Elements of the Human Design Chart

Energy type: your basic energy and interaction with the environment
Your energy type (Generator, Manifestor, Projector, Manifesting Generator, Reflector) describes your base energy and how you resonate with your environment. In Design Life there are five different types that determine your natural energy flow and interaction.

Strategy: Your communication with others
Your strategy is the inner mechanism that shows you whether a certain path or decision is right for you. It helps you to use your potential optimally to create harmony within yourself and in your environment. Each strategy is directly connected to your energy type and guides you through communication with your environment.

Authority: How to Make Decisions
Your inner authority is your personal compass for decisions. It works independently of logic or rational thinking and gives you a clear sense of the right direction. It shows you which mechanics are activated in your decision-making process. In Design Life there are seven different authorities.

Profile: Your Roles in Life
Your profile (e.g. 5/1) represents the role you play in your life. It reflects how you can develop your potential and approach your life's purpose. It also shows which gifts and challenges unfold in your life. There are a total of twelve profiles in Design Life.

Centers: Perceiving, feeling and passing on energy
The nine centers in your Design Life Chart show which energy aspects you constantly project outward and which energies you absorb from others. They reflect how you perceive the influences of your environment and how you give your own energy back into the world.

Goals: Your Gifts, Talents and Challenges
The 64 gates represent your individual gene keys. They show which talents and gifts you bring with you (e.g. the gate of logic) and which challenges or dark sides (e.g. dominance) you encounter. Each gate has its own meaning and energy.

Lines: How and where you live out your genes
The six lines describe how you live out your genetic potential in life. They define your view of the world, how you interact and in which environment your gifts and talents can best develop.

Channels: Energy in your system
The channels represent the flow of energy in your system. Two connected gates form a channel that anchors a specific energy in your personality (e.g. the "materialist's channel" or the "Mother Theresa channel"). There are a total of 36 channels that represent formative energies.
